Meet Lan

Lan Diep is a son of Vietnamese refugees, someone who has spent his life helping marginalized communities gain access, and a believer in the ability of every individual to make a positive impact through public service. As a San Jose city councilmember, Lan worked to bring efficiency, transparency, and fiscal responsibility to America’s tenth largest city so that limited resources could go further towards improving everyone’s quality of life.

Now he’s running for state assembly to bring that same sensibility to California. As the state with the world’s fifth largest economy, we will continue to lead and innovate. But the state’s foremost priority must be to excel at the basic services Californians expect from state government.

He will continue to work on behalf of all Californians to ensure that the state is prepared for the increasing threat of wildfires, that our power grid is resilient and modernized, broadband access is expanded, highways and state roads are better maintained, and customer service at state-run offices such as the DMV or EDD improve to meet 21st century standards.

Public Health

Covid-19 laid bare the weaknesses in our public health system, and we must work to rectify those shortcomings. I’ll fight for affordable access to quality healthcare for every Californian. The role of government will change as covid becomes endemic and we need to be nimble enough to lower and heighten precautions as circumstances require.
